There are only four games left in the league season, and every game will now be absolutely crucial. AC Milan are facing a home game against Fiorentina in the 35th round of Serie A, while Inter are facing another tough battle. Napoli and Juventus still have a theoretical chance.

A huge loss for Inter – this is how one could undoubtedly interpret Wednesday’s Nerazzurri match at Bologna.

It was those two goals that decided that Inter are two points behind the current table leader, their biggest rival AC Milan, ahead of the thirty-fifth round of the Italian top flight.

The first one was taken care of by Marko Arnautovic, who sent a great centre into the penalty area by Musa Barrow. Romanian goalkeeper Ionut Radu then made a huge mistake in the 81st minute, thanks to which Nicola Sansone decided the fate of the match.

With 72 points, the Nerazzurri remain second in the league table. However, the next game will not be easy for Inter. Simone Inzaghi’s charges will have a tough game at Udinese.

The team from the north-east of Italy also blasted Fiorentina 4-0 in Wednesday’s match, on their field. Before that, they drew in Bologna (2:2) and lost at home to Salernitana (0:1), but their good form was confirmed by the results of the thirty-third, thirty-second and thirty-first rounds, when they beat Empoli 4:1, beat Venice 2:1 and crushed Cagliari 5:1.

However, before the match with Bologna, Inter lost all points for the last time on 20 February, on the occasion of the home match against Sassuolo (0: 2).

The Nerazzurri have won four of their last five matches, beating AS Roma (3:1), beating AC in the Coppa Italia semi-final (3:1), while Inter also lost to Spezia and Hellas Verona.

AC Milan, on the other hand, have not had such a convincing record in terms of gameplay. However, it should be noted that in their last match at Lazio the Rossoneri were clearly the better team and won deservedly 2::1.

It should be noted that, apart from dropping out of the Italian Cup, Stefano Pioli’s charges can deliver a top performance in crucial moments.

Since the beginning of March, however, it is the finishing that has been troubling AC Milan’s squad, so it is no wonder that they have only managed to score twice in their last five games. Since the last game against Lazio and the semi-final against Inter, AC have beaten Genoa 2-0 at home, but before that they drew twice.

Namely 0: 0 at the Turin stadium and again 0: 0 in the home game against Bologna. It should be added, Bologna took points from AC, Inter and Juventus in the spring phase of the season. Only Naples managed to beat Arnautovic and co., and that was on 17 January by 2: 0.

AC’s opponent in the 35th round of Serie A will be Fiorentina, who are still playing for the European Cups and need to gain valuable points. The Rossoneri have to prepare for a really tough game.

Napoli and Juventus still have a theoretical chance to win the title. The former is currently in third place with 67 points, five and seven points behind the top two teams.

Juventus are in fourth position. The more famous club from Turin has collected 66 points so far and they also still have a theoretical chance of overall triumph. Although it is very unlikely that AC and Inter will succumb to some sort of crisis and neither of these clubs will reach the title.
