Fifteen Grand Prix are behind us, the 16th one awaits us. On the first to third of October, we’ll see Formula 1 in Turkey at the Istanbul circuit. When will it take place, what’s the schedule and where can you follow the race weekend?

This is the sixteenth race of the season on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar. With this Grand Prix, we enter the final quarter of the season.

The first time the F1 cars came here was in 2005. The winner then was Kimi Räikkönen in a McLaren, but Felipe Massa has the most victories to his name. He won here in Ferrari colours in 2006, 2007 and 2008. For 2012, however, the Turkish Grand Prix was removed from the World Championship calendar and only returned last year.

The record for fastest lap here is held by Juan Pablo Montoya. In 2005, he clocked a time of 1:24.770. The race is scheduled for fifty-eight laps. The length of the course is 5.338 km. The circuit consists of 14 corners and offers two DRS zones. The first detection point is located before turn 9, the second after turn 13.
