The 20th race on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar will be held in Qatar, specifically at the Losail International Circuit. when will it take place, what is the schedule and where to follow the race weekend?

Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi – these are the final three destinations we will be looking at for this year’s World Championship.

The Losail International Circuit will be the venue for the first time ever this year. Drivers will cover a total of 306.66 kilometres on the 5.38-kilometre circuit during the race, with the Qatar Grand Prix scheduled for 57 laps.

Losail International Circuit was built in 2004, and as far as Moto GP is concerned, the record for the fastest lap here is held by Casey Stoner in 2008.

It’s worth noting – this isn’t just some kind of calendar fill for 2021. Formula 1 has signed a ten-year deal with Qatar! However, this agreement will only come into force in 2023. Next year, the race will not be held here because of the World Cup, which is hosted by Qatar.

The race weekend in Qatar kicks off with the first free practice session, which is scheduled for November 19 from 11::30 – 12::30. There will be a second practice session on the same day at 3pm.

FP3 is scheduled for noon on Saturday, with qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix starting at 3pm. All five lights will also go out at 15:00.
