The June deadline is very difficult for the implementation team to put together a line-up. Unusually, the national team has to play 4 matches, and after the duel with Switzerland there will be difficult duels with Spain and Portugal.
However, if the Czech national team wants to stay in the elite group, the way is probably through Switzerland. That is why Šilhavý will deploy the strongest possible line-up in the first match. “Given the importance of the match, we will set up the best possible line-up. We want to succeed,” said the coach at the press conference.
But Šilhavy has to deal with several absences. Patrik Schick, Tomáš Holeš, Antonín Barák or Lukáš Masopust, who are regulars under coach Šilhavý and are the driving forces of the national team, are not available.
In goal, there is no doubt, Tomáš Vaclík is the clear leader between the sticks. Šilhavý hinted that there is a possibility of starting with three stoppers as in the barrage and they have been working on it in training. But he doesn’t have many stoppers at his disposal, especially after Tomas Petrasek’s injury.
So he can use David Zima, Václav Jemelka and Jaroslav Zelený. And this is the trio that Šilhavý will probably go for. On the right halfback there is no question, the physically supercharged Vladimir Coufal is available. There is a bit of a problem on the left, where there is no quality left back, but this position will probably be filled by Jakub Jankto, just like in Sweden. However, Václav Černý has also been tried on it.
Tomáš Souček and Michal Sadílek will certainly start in the centre pairing, while newcomer Adam Vlkanova could get a chance ahead of them. He could be joined by Adam Hložek, who would assist forward Jan Kuchta.
Probable line-up of the Czech national team:
Vaclik
Zima – Brabec – Zelený
Coufal – Souček – Sadílek – Jankto
Vlkanova – Hložek
Kuchta
