Spain saved at least a draw with the Czech Republic at the end of both halves. Thanks to this, they have two points after two games and are now in third place ahead of last-placed Switzerland. What did coach Luis Enrique say at the press conference?

Before the game, the Spain coach announced that his team will not have an easy time. According to his words, he expected a tough match, just like with Portugal.

And this was true, although the Spanish played more football, the Czechs had several promising opportunities and deservedly scored two goals. Just when it looked like Spain would come away empty handed, Inigo Martinez equalised late on.

“It was complicated for us from the beginning. For most of the game it wasn’t us, we weren’t at our best. We didn’t play the way we imagined,” Enrique said at the post-match press conference.

From a Czech fan’s point of view, the result is well deserved. Jaroslav Šilhavy’s team was well prepared and the Spaniards had no more chances than the Czechs.

“I won’t tell you if it’s a deserved or undeserved result. I think we had more chances. In the first half we had difficulties getting behind our opponent, who defended well and played aggressively. TheCzechs caused us a lot of problems,” added the Spanish manager.

He and his team will now head to Switzerland, who are still without a single point. He then returns to his home country where he will be looking to take all the points from the Czechs in the rematch.
