For Maddison, a move to Arsenal would be a step backwards. Leicester are already much further away
Arsenal are very interested in Leicester’s James Maddison, according to English servers, who understandably don’t want to give up their creative midfielder. Moreover, the Gunners would have to come up with a similar amount to what Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish.

Mikel Arteta is doing everything he can to get a creative midfielder similar to James Maddison into his team. It’s just that with the finances he very likely has at his disposal, it certainly doesn’t look like a top midfielder.
However, London club fans are used to that by now and it doesn’t look like any change this summer either. Yet the competition has been stepping up for considerable sums over the summer and the vision of Arsenal’s participation in next year’s Champions League or even Europa League is starting to recede.
Arteta has perhaps only Emil Smith Rowe available for the job, but he is still 21 years old and despite his great talent, he is at a much lower level compared to Bruno Fernandes or Kevin de Bruyne.
Yet creativity in the centre of midfield is absolutely crucial for greater success and without it, it is virtually impossible to think of success. Thus, if Arsenal don’t bring in someone to fill this position, it could end up in another miserable result in the coming season.
During the last press conference, coach Rodgers also revealed how much he values his midfielder, comparing him to Grealish. “I think they are both similar, they are both players who have great talent. I think statistically they are the same.”
For Maddison himself, then, a move to Arsenal would make virtually no sense. Leicester have a very good team that will play in the Europa League. And most English experts expect him to finish the new season ahead of the London team again.
the 24-year-old midfielder played 42 games last season, scoring 11 goals and adding 10 assists. And he still had to battle several injuries during the season, which set him back a step whenever he got into great form.
“James was very unlucky last season when he had to fight several injuries, which prevented him from improving. But now he’s going to have a great year, he’s in great shape, but of course you also need a bit of that luck,” Rodgers believes he can build on the English midfielder this time around.
Maddison’s transfer is unlikely for several reasons and personally I don’t expect the English midfielder to want to make the move. He also has a great partner in Youri Tielemans at the Foxes.
Wilfred Ndidi is doing a great defensive job in midfield and Leicester have also brought in Boubacar Soumaré, who had a great performance last season in Lille, with whom he won the title.
Leicester have a great and balanced team that should once again fight for at least the top 6 positions, which with all due respect cannot be said for Arsenal.
