Football in Brazil is no fun. Hulk showed drastic weight loss after the game
Brazilian football striker Hulk filmed his weight before the game and after 90 minutes on the pitch in the oppressive heat. The total weight loss he showed on Twitter may surprise you.
Brazilian football striker Hulk filmed his weight before the game and after 90 minutes on the pitch in the oppressive heat. The total weight loss he showed on Twitter may surprise you.
the 36-year-old footballer, who we have the opportunity to know mainly during his time at Porto and later at Zenit St. Petersburg, is currently a footballer for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.
During the last match against Tombense in the Brazilian championship Mineiro scored the decisive goal in the 89th minute of the match. Hulk came through with a beautiful shot placed in the top corner of the opponent’s goal.
The soccer match was played at 11 am local time, probably just to keep the players out of the highest temperatures of the day. Even so, the temperature climbed to 30 degrees during the game, which are definitely not ideal conditions for playing a soccer match.
Weight loss
By the time Hulk weighed himself before the game, he was nearly 98 Kg on the scales. After the match itself, he weighed nearly 92 Kg. That’s a loss of six kilograms in less than two hours.
It is evident that a combination of tropical conditions and tremendous physical exertion is responsible for losing that much weight. Especially the dehydration during and after the match, caused by the weather.
Towards the end of the match, the rain added to the rain, which made movement on the pitch even more difficult, as the footballers had to exert more physical effort afterwards.
It was not the first time Hulk shared a similar result with the public. Half a year ago during a match against Flamengo, it was almost the same weight loss. Similar dehydration can subsequently complicate anti-doping checks, for which a urine sample must be taken.
The Brazilian striker missed his plane with the rest of the team at the time because he spent four hours at the check itself.
“I was exhausted. Tired. I started the game with 97 kilos and finished with 91. I went to the anti-doping check where I spent four hours. I drank maybe 30 litres of water but even so it was terribly difficult to perform the need to take a urine sample,” the then 35-year-old footballer told a press conference.
