Five years ago, he turned down the UFC because of Vemola! How would Patrik Kincl react to an offer from the biggest MMA organization today?
He already turned down a lasso from the UFC once because of a fight with an old rival. Now he’s won the fight of his life with Vemola. This brings up the question, how was Patrik Kincl treated after five years with the same offer from the biggest MMA organization in the world?

Five years ago, he turned down the UFC for Vemola
What didn’t work out five years ago has worked out now. Patrik Kincl got his long-awaited rematch with his old rival. In the fight of his life, he defeated Karlos Vemola on points and defended his Octagon middleweight title.
Five years ago, he refused to fight Vemola in the UFC. The biggest MMA organization in the world sent him a lasso, but Kincl didn’t use the submission. The reason he gave then was that it was a short notice against the dangerous Neil Magny. He said he only postponed his retirement to the famous organization.
Despite the fact that he fought in the Russian ACB or even in the title fight of the Polish number one MMA organization KSW, he only looked overseas as a training partner of David Dvorak. If another offer came now, how would the Octagon champion react to it?

“I’m letting it go now, we’ll see,” said Patrik Kincl uncertainly in an interview with Kaocko. “I’m generally not chasing it anymore. I’m not saying I have to win this fight to fight for the UFC, then we’ll be back in touch, we’ll start fine-tuning it right away.”
“If the offer came, I would consider it. I’m being a jerk now that I have it closed, but if Maynard (note: Mick Maynard, UFC matchmaker) writes that we open it up again, I won’t sleep for two days and I’ll think about the pros and cons,” he did confirm that he would consider the offer.
“It would definitely be something interesting, but I’m not going to actively pursue it. If it comes up, I’ll chop it up, but to run after them now that I’ve won, no,” he said, taking the situation in stride.
Now Patrik is on his way to Vancouver for the UFC 289 gala, where his partner David Dvorak will fight for a UFC contract after two unfortunate losses. The tournament will take place on June 11, so will there be any backstage talks between UFC representatives and the Octagon champion?
