First odds for the potential Procházka vs. Hill fight! Who do the fans believe?

Jamahal Hill is the new UFC champion. He outpointed the legendary Glover Teixeira in a sensational performance and it is quite possible that his first challenger will be Jiri Prochazka. Now the first odds are out and the fans have voted for their favourite in one of the polls.

The American fighter went into the welterweight title fight as a slight favorite, but the bettors didn’t put much faith in him. After all, Jamahal Hill was the opponent of the legendary Glover Teixeira, who was supposed to be more complex and much more experienced.

Moreover, the Brazilian was boosted by a recent great fight when he was beaten by Jiri Prochazka. However, if not for a mounted choke in the last minute of the fight, Teixeira would have won on points. It was supposed to be a rematch, but the Moravian was injured and Hill got a shot at the title.

Teixeira was beaten badly for five rounds. He landed an insane amount of hard punches. He survived the impossible. According to UFC stats, Hill hit him with 232 significant strikes, while the Brazilian only hit his rival significantly 75 times.

Moreover, Hill was well prepared for Teixeira’s attempts to take the fight to the ground, with only 2 of his 17 takedown attempts being unsuccessful, an outstanding feat considering Teixeira’s qualities. It was just hard to believe that the Brazilian would last all five rounds. Either way, the American deservedly won the title.

Hill vs. Walk? The American the favorite

Now it’s not at all clear what’s next for the division. However, there is a lot of talk that the first challenger of Jamahal Hill could be Jiri Prochazka, the last champion who lost his title due to injury.

After all, when Hill won against Teixeira, there was a lot of fan excitement in the reactions to that fight. Even UFC welterweight star Belal Muhammad expressed his desire to see it.

However, Chamatkar Sandhu, who manages BT Sport’s social networking site for combat sports, has created a poll on Twitter in which more than 5.6 thousand people have already voted. Almost 70% of those voting see the Moravian fighter as the winner of the potential duel instead.
