First doping, now a rigged fight? UFC champion Makhachev faces another charge

Islam Makhachev recently defended his title for the first time, defeating Alexander Volkanovsky on points in a close battle. After the fight, however, he faced doping charges, and now he has been accused of the fight being rigged in his favor.
UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is facing a second accusation from the second fighter of the best MMA organization on the planet after his first defense.
In the first, he was accused of doping by Dan Hooker right after his successful defense against Alexander Volkanovsky. His rumor caused a much bigger stir than expected, and the Dagestani fighter was certainly not helped by his manager Ali Abdelaziz’ s statement.
However, after some time the whole thing stopped and the speculation died down, despite all the controversy that followed it.
Now, however, another accusation is on the way. This time it’s being blamed on Bryce Mitchell, another UFC fighter who notched his first ever career loss this year when he fell short to Ilia Topuria.
And what exactly did Mitchell come up with? “That fight was rigged. Makhachev has rich people from the Middle East behind him, and when you’ve got… All the richest people in the world are from the Middle East. I think they paid the referee to win the fight,” he tells Fanatics View.
“I know Alexander Volkanovski won on points. It’s not just my feeling, it’s reality. He won. I’m not stupid, nobody can convince me that the fight wasn’t rigged. I’m sure the referees were paid,” he added.
Mitchell’s statement, however, must be taken with even more of a grain of salt than was the case with the statement made by Hooker. Indeed, Mitchell recently challenged Joe Rogan to a debate when he claimed that our planet is flat and not round. He supposedly has evidence for this.
