One of the biggest and most watched transfers of the winter was certainly the transfer of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina to Juventus Turin. However, Fiorentina president Commisso had a very unflattering comment on the deal.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Commisso should have said about Vlahovic that he is a dishonest man and a liar. He said that every time an offer came in from England, the agents said no. Their plan was the same as Mbappé with PSG and that was to leave as a free agent and make big money.
Because in the case of a free transfer, the club would pay no transfer fee, but pushed the bonuses for the player and agent that much more.
As it is known, Mbappé has come to an agreement with Real Madrid and will leave as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires. Meanwhile, PSG management had an offer approaching €200 million on the table from Real in the past, but the club didn’t want to let their attacking star go.
By letting Mbappé leave for free, Real can pay their new signing handsomely. There is speculation of up to €50 million a year.
But Vlahovic is not going to Juventus for free after all. The club have shelled out €81.6 million to Fiorentina for him, and they can get more in bonuses.
The reactions of the fans are different. How it was in the end and what could have happened we will probably never know. However, the truth is that the practice of a player not renewing his contract and leaving as a free agent to another club, with the possibility of asking for a bonus or a bigger salary is appearing in more and more cases.
