Filip Hronek was there last night as Vancouver swept the New York Rangers 6-3 in the NHL. Hronek’s opponent lost the Eastern Conference lead after the defeat.

The Rangers quickly took the lead, but the Canucks turned the game around

The Rangers waited for nothing in front of their own fans and took the lead at 3:38. Vincent Trocheck converted a great feed to Thatcher Demko with a shot into an uncovered net after passes from Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad.

The Rangers didn’t hold the lead for long, however, as J.T. Miller equalized less than a minute later, unguarded by the defense, and he finished easily from the left circle to the right post. Vancouver turned the game around at 6:45. Nils Hoglander scored after a great pass from Nils Amano.

Goaltender Demko then made several important saves to help the Canucks maintain a one-goal lead until the end of the period. His teammates rewarded him when 16 seconds before the buzzer, Brock Boeser made it 3-1 on a breakaway.

Filip Hronek scored in the second period

The home team scored the opening goal of the period again. Panarin finished off a quick New York counterattack with a shot to the top right corner.

The game was scoreless for a long time until Filip Hronek’s two-minute goal. The Czech defenseman first found Elias Pettersson with a cross pass, who tapped the puck to Teddy Blueger and then beat the goalie at 35:33.

Hronk then managed to stop the Rangers’ attack, the puck then went to Hoglander, who after a combination with Pius Suter increased the lead to 5:2 at 36:47.

The last period did not change the result

The Rangers were down by three goals before the start of the third period, but they could still think about scoring. Three and a half minutes of the final period passed and the reduction came. Trocheck scored his second goal of the game to keep the home team’s hopes alive.

However, they were unable to add another goal and tried to take a chance without a goalkeeper before the end of the game. It didn’t work and Pettersson scored into the empty net to make it 6-3 Canucks.

Vancouver got two points from the game and moved one point closer to the Western Conference leader Winnipeg, who has a game to play. New York, on the other hand, lost the top spot in the East to Boston.
