Ferencváros will face a Champions League group game on Tuesday. If they want to make it through to the top 32 teams in Europe, they must beat Young Boys Bern at home, having lost their opening game 2-3.
Ferencváros had sailed through the Champions League almost without a loss until Wednesday, losing only one of their six matches (0: 1 to Slavia). However, the match in Switzerland did not go well at all and in the end he was happy to have managed to reduce the score to 2: 3.
Bern played more than sixty minutes shorthanded due to Silvan Hefti’s suspension. They still won at home and were unbeaten (2-2-0) in their fifth qualifying match this year.
Young Boys have to watch out for Myrtle Uzuni, who is the second top scorer in this season’s Champions League with four goals. Ihor Kharatin boasts three assists, including a penalty kick into the Slavia net.
Michel Aebischer is in charge of assists in the yellow and black jersey, he has already provided three goals with his passes. Christian Fassnacht, a member of the Swiss national team who also played at the summer Euro, is also a mainstay.
Ferencváros relies on a goal-scoring attack, scoring less than two goals in only two of their last nine games.
That doesn’t suit Bern, which has kept a clean sheet in only one of its last eight games (against Slovan Bratislava).
Given the result of the first match, neither team has any reason to rush forward from the first minute. That’s why I think the score will be tied after 30 minutes.
