Felix has moved to Stamford Bridge. His transfer to Chelsea will affect several other players
João Félix moved to Stamford Bridge (again) a few days ago. However, his transfer may affect the future of several players who are not even active at Chelsea. First and foremost, his arrival is likely to affect Raheem Sterling, followed by Federico Chiesa, who of course has had his future at Juventus sealed for a few weeks now.

- João Félix is headed to Chelsea for €53 million, although his previous loan spell here was not a success
- Raheem Sterling will pay for the Portuguese’s arrival and is looking for a new club
- Federico Chiesa is on his way to Barcelona and Sterling is set to replace him
The Portuguese striker, who is increasingly coming in from the wing, has already worn the London Chelsea jersey in the spring part of the 2022/23 season. In the blue jersey, he appeared in 20 games, during which he scored just 4 goals. For an offensive player who should be involved in goal scoring actions, that’s a miserable statistic.
Last season started well for him, he gave good performances in a Barcelona jersey. However, as time went on, he lost his place in the starting lineup until he lost it completely.
Anyway, 10 goals and 6 assists in 44 games is one of the best seasons of his career. Barcelona, however, were not interested in turning the guest appearance into a permanent transfer, so the Portuguese had to return to Atlético.
He was only rescued from captivity by Chelsea. They offered €53 million for the 24-year-old and the transfer was a done deal. However, this is a player who has not made a significant impact in the Premier League. Rather, it was a transfer that was supposed to be a sort of replacement for Connogo Gallagher. Félix will be paid €300,000 a week, making him one of the highest paid players at the club.
Sterling and Chiesa will pay for the Portuguese’s transfer
Raheem Sterling transferred in 2022 for 56 million euros as a big signing. In a Manchester City jersey, he bullied every defender in the Premier League. However, he wasn’t the only one who paid the price for frequent rotation and starting alongside other players last season. The opening season, meanwhile, yielded 9 goals and 4 assists for Sterling.
Last season he was supposed to be one of the key figures of the whole team with Cole Palmer. He scored 10 goals and 8 assists in 43 games, which is not bad, but you would probably expect better from a sub-60 million euro signing. Now Juventus are in the running for his services and it’s playing into their hands that the Englishman is no longer being counted on at Stamford Bridge.
Federico Chiesa came to Juventus as a big signing, a future star. However, everything changed with a knee injury that caused him to miss almost all of one season. Last season he scored 10 goals and added 3 assists. Often he even played the wingback position, which is not his own.
However, after the arrival of Thiago Motta, he was told that he can look for a new club. It is Sterling who should come in his place. Barcelona are interested in the Italian, with whom he should have already agreed personal terms. We are just waiting for an agreement between the teams.
