Michael Krmenčík is enjoying his new engagement in remote Indonesia. The twenty-nine-year-old striker has been entertaining the local fans there, making his third consecutive game-winner on Sunday and scoring his fifth goal in the 2022/23 league season.
Michael Krmencik has been experiencing quite possibly the worst part of his career this spring. The former mainstay of Viktoria Plzeň was a guest at Slavia, where he failed to impress and stopped getting chances.
In the summer he heard an interesting offer from Indonesia, he was bought by Persija Jakarta, where he was reunited with stopper Ondrej Kudela.
The twenty-nine-year-old striker is now playing regularly for his team and has even started to make a name for himself, which has made him a fan favourite.
He has scored 4 goals in the last three games and all of them were winning goals. First in Arema’s net in a 1: 0 result, then against Bhayangkara Solo twice in a 2: 1 result.
He scored an imaginary hat-trick in the decided matches against Barito Putera which ended 1: 0. Thanks mainly to Krmenchik, Persija is thus tied for third place after nine matches with 20 points.
However, they are only two points behind leaders Madura United. Krmencik has scored five goals so far this season, which puts him sixth in the scorers’ table. He is, however, the best European.
