A phenomenon, a legend, handsome and one of the best tennis players of all time. Roger Federer has achieved a lot in his career and although he will celebrate his 41st birthday in August and is in poor health, he does not want to quit. He would like to play at Wimbledon one more time.
He spent a good part of his career as the world number one, and was also the first tennis player in history to win 20 Grand Slam tournaments. He won the affection of fans who still can’t get enough of him.
But lately, age has been catching up with him, as well as health problems. After all, Roger Federer will celebrate his 41st birthday in August and is currently undergoing his third knee surgery. Still, he doesn’t want to quit playing just yet.
The centre court at the All England Club celebrated its 100th anniversary and one of the guests of honour was the legendary Swiss, who has been hyping up the fans for his comeback.
He also made an appearance at Wimbledon a year ago when he crashed out in the quarter-finals. This year he is missing due to health problems, but next year he would like to appear again at the most famous tournament.
After all, when he stood on the grass court in a suit and therefore not as a player, he felt strange, according to his own words. “I hope to come back here again. I miss it,” he let himself be heard during the ceremony.
He would like to play the Laver Cup in September. Apart from that, Federer would also like to play an ATP tournament in his native Basel. Let’s hope he can make it happen.
