Fear for Mbappé! PSG star injured. How did Pochettino assess the loss in Bruges?
During Wednesday’s Champions League programme, apart from Sheriff Tiraspol’s win over Shakhtar Donetsk, another sensation was born. Bruges held off a star-studded PSG at home. In Paris, however, they are worried about the health of Kylian Mbappé. What did coach Mauricio Pochettino say after the game?
A big night in Bruges! The Belgian side managed to get an extremely valuable 1-1 draw with PSG on home soil.
For the first time, the star strike trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar played together. Brugge, however, were surprisingly more active in terms of shooting.
However, Mbappé’s injury was a big issue, as he had to leave the field in the 51st minute. For now, it is not known how serious the injury is and how long a break the offensive gem is facing.
“He will have to go for an examination. We hope to know how he is as soon as possible,” coach Mauricio Pochettino was quoted as saying. So in Paris, apart from dissatisfaction with the result, there is also fear for the French star.
And how did Pochettino assess the match? Understandably not very positive. “No one in the team can be happy with the performance or the result. We came here to win. Hats off to the opponent, he went for the win more than we did,” expressed the PSG coach.
“We need time for Messi, Neymar Mbappé to play and to start to understand each other. That’s obvious. We need to build a team. We didn’t have a good night but we have to stay calm, the situation will improve,” Pochettino added.
