FC Barcelona did their duty against Almeria and after a two-match break, they finally celebrate a three-point win!
The Barcelona players played an unexpectedly tough game on Wednesday night. Against the last team in the table, few expected that the three points would not stay at the Estadio Olimpico. In the end, after a tough battle with a tenacious Almeria, captain S. Roberto had to make the decision in the 83rd minute.

1. half-time
Barcelona did not enter today’s match in a good mood. They had only taken a point from their last two games (losing to Girona 2:4 and drawing 1:1 with Valencia). Therefore, they desperately needed to score full points against the last team in the table, who have not won in La Liga so far this season.
But the victory of the famous Spanish giant was not easy. In the first half, the home side managed to make the most of the great activity with only one goal, in the 33rd minute after a corner kick, when stopper Araujo headed the ball into the net (1:0) and Raphinha was in the right place after a good save by the visiting goalkeeper.
The visitors then managed to catch the hosts off guard when, just before half-time in the 41st minute, Leo Baptistao was able to capitalise on an independent break after a good through pass (1: 1).
2. half-time: FC Barcelona 3:2 Almería
Barcelona started the second half actively and in the 60th minute, Roberto was again able to make a good run to the front post after a corner kick, and with a precisely placed header he was able to increase Barcelona’s lead to 2:1.
However, the lead lasted only 11 minutes when Gonzalez took advantage of a miscommunication between the home goalkeeper Pena and the stopper Araujo, who had a simple job and “cleared” the ball into the empty net (2:2).
In the end, it was Roberto who had to take the reins of the game. Like a true captain, he gave Barcelona a three-point lead in the 83rd minute when he managed to beat the visiting goalkeeper after a great pass behind the defence from Lewandovski.
This gave Barcelona an important three points and kept them at the top of La Liga along with Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and the surprise leader of the current season, Girona. Barcelona will play their next game in the new year on 4 January 2024 at Las Palmas.
