The Europa League is extremely interesting this season. Teams like Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax, Sevilla, Sporting and Leverkusen have all been relegated from the Champions League.
More teams have joined them from the basic groups and we now have the top eight. This includes Leverkusen, Juventus, AS Roma, Sporting, Feyenoord, Manchester United, Sevilla and Union SG.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for Thursday, April 9, with the rematch a week later on April 20. The semi-finals are then scheduled for May 11 and 18.
The finals will be played in Budapest at Puskás Arena and are scheduled for April 31.
The biggest draw is Manchester United’s duel with Sevilla. The English team, led by Erik ten Hag, is a big favourite, while the Andalusians are the most successful team in the Europa League.
The Czech footballers will face Union SG, the surprise of the competition, in Leverkusen. The Belgian side knocked out Union Berlin in the eighth round.
The quarter-final draw:
Manchester United – Sevilla
Juventus – Sporting
Leverkusen – Union SG
Feyenoord – AS Rome
The semi-final pairs were drawn at the same time. The winner of Juventus – Sporting will face the better of Manchester United – Sevilla. The winner of Feyenoord – AS Rome will face the better of Leverkusen – Union SG.
