Fantastic De Bruyne! Watch the Belgian midfielder’s wonderful goal

Earlier this week, Kevin De Bruyne was named the third best player in the world in the Ballon d’Or poll for last season. He immediately confirmed the validity of the poll against Brighton at the weekend.

Manchester City welcomed Brighton, who knew full well that they were in for a real slog. The Citizens have reigned supreme at their Etihad Stadium, winning all five of their games so far with a score of 24-5.

However, Trossard reduced the deficit at the start of the second half and gave Brighton hope of at least some points. But all chances were cut short by the world’s third best player.

In the 75th minute, Bernardo Silva dragged the ball down and found Kevin De Bruyne in front of the whitewash, who beat Sanchez with a beautiful and uncatchable shot to the back post.

The Citizens easily finished the match and beat the Seagulls 3-1. They improved their home record to 6 wins and a 27:6 record. At least for a day they have moved to the top of the table, with provisional leader Arsenal challenging Southampton on Sunday.
