The Premier League can look forward to stadiums full of people! The announcement was made by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at a press conference on Monday. Since July 19, all sporting events are allowed in England without restrictions.
As in the Czech Republic, stadiums in England have not been able to accommodate people since March last year, and if they have, a minimum percentage of capacity has been allowed in.
That changes in England at the start of the new season. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced at a press conference that from 19 July, sporting and cultural events will no longer be held without restrictions.
“We will allow all venues, including nightclubs, to reopen, we will lift the cap on named care home visitors and the numbers of people attending concerts, theatre and sporting events,” said Boris Johnson
Until now, fans have had to show a negative test or vaccination card.
The first attempt to reopen sporting events to up to one-third capacity took place last October. However, stadiums were soon closed after rising cases of coronavirus.
In December, fans returned to the stadiums, at least in small numbers. But it didn’t take long before the stadiums were closed again.
However, fans were allowed in for the FA Cup final, one FA Cup semi-final, the Carabao Cup final and the World Billiards Championship. Of the 58,000 fans, only 28 were positive.
Based on the above testing phase, it was announced that the next season will be completely with fans. Will we see a similar rollout in the Czech Republic?
