Fairy tale rewards. Sinner earned more than half the season’s worth of money for his participation in Saudi Arabia
Although it is not on the ATP tournament calendar, it has attracted all the best tennis players in the world. The Six Kings Slam tournament offered very attractive conditions for the players. How much money did the most successful players earn? And how much did the winner, Jannik Sinner, make?

- The exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia attracted the world’s elite
- Tennis players won very interesting prize money
- Winner Jannik Sinner got the biggest raise
The best players on the ATP circuit were absent this week. They participated in an exhibition event in Saudi Arabia. And the amounts earned by the best players in the world correspond to the stars who took part in the event.
Let’s start with the participants in this event. Among them, the legendary Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune. The big draw was the participation of Rafael Nadal, who is bidding farewell to his career. This exhibition event also attracted two of the biggest stars of this year, Carlos Alcaraz and world number one Jannik Sinner.
It was the latter players who proved their dominance this year by making it to the final of this event. Alcaraz won the first set, but Sinner managed to turn the match around and became the overall winner.
Legends competed for the third place. Djokovic outplayed Nadal in this duel and after sets 6:2, 7:6 he won the position on the imaginary podium. The duel in Saudi Arabia thus closed a great chapter in tennis history. The chapter of duels between Djokovic and Nadal. It ended 31:29 in favour of the Serb.
Sinner and his success
The twenty-three-year-old tennis player is this year’s king. He won two Grand Slam titles, having rejoiced at the beginning of the year at the Australian Open and later at the US Open. His total collection of titles for 2024 is impressive.
The Italian has conquered a total of seven events on the ATP circuit. He added three titles at the prestigious Masters level to the aforementioned majors. Only once has he failed to win a final. That was a few weeks ago in Beijing.
These results go hand in hand with significant financial gain. The size of the event in Saudi Arabia stands out in this comparison. In a few days, Sinner has made half of what he earned during this successful year. He made £4.6 million by winning the Saudi Arabia show. That’s nearly 140 million crowns.
The other participants in the tournament will certainly not be hurting financially either. Each player will receive £1.15 million for taking part in the event. Just for comparison: that’s almost half the amount earned this year by the winner of the legendary Wimbledon.
The tournament in Saudi Arabia has thus once again highlighted the fact that sufficient financial incentives can get tennis players to participate despite the fact that they regularly complain about their busy schedules. Indeed, money is often an afterthought.
