A phenomenal footballer out of the spotlight
Cesc Fabregas is 35 years old and has had a phenomenal career. With the Spanish national team, he has dominated the Euros twice and the World Cup once, winning everything he could in a Barcelona jersey, except the Champions League. He also collected trophies at Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Spanish midfielder was undoubtedly one of the best footballers of his generation, he collected many records and will be remembered by all as an outstanding playmaker. However, from January 2019 until now, he has been at Monaco, where he has somewhat fallen into oblivion.
He came to the princely club as a big star, only he didn’t play much due to frequent injuries as well. He only started 68 games, and he didn’t even play more than 1000 league minutes in a single season. In his last season he only played in five competitive games.
Fabregas still has ambitions to play
Now Fabregas is a free agent and is not thinking about the end of his career. Last month, he said that last season was the worst in his long career, which he started very young, and that he definitely doesn’t want to end up like that.
Likewise, the Spanish midfielder revealed before his contract expired that he had two or three offers for a new contract. Now, one very specific piece of information has appeared in the Spanish media.
Fabregas was supposed to have received an offer from Las Palmas, which operates in the second Spanish league. The Canary Islands at the end of his career sounds lovely, doesn’t it? But the legendary footballer wants more. Of course, the salary that Las Palmas could not possibly pay him is also an influence.
But it is not impossible that a return to Spain will happen. But it’s uncertain exactly where that should be.
