A popular tennis tournament starts in Monaco. On Sunday, Italy’s Fabio Fognini (18th in the ATP rankings) and Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic will face each other. Will the thirty-three year old experienced tennis player confirm his role as the favourite and win?
Fabio Fognini is the favourite, but he hasn’t been in great form lately. He has won only once in his last five matches, a smooth 2-0 win over Stefan Travaglia.
Two weeks ago he lost 1: 2 sets to Sebastian Korda, the son of the famous Czech tennis player. However, Sebastian represents the USA, where he also lives.
The Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is not yet one of the best known on the ATP circuit. Last September, however, he won his only singles title so far by beating Germany’s Yannick Hanfrmann 2:0 in the final in Kitzbühel, Austria.
However, he is not playing at his best at the moment either. He has won only two of his last five matches.
This will be the first meeting between these two fighters. The result is therefore very difficult to predict, but personally I would recommend betting on experience, i.e. on Italian Fognini.
