The seventh round of the Premier League will offer a rescue battle in addition to the shenanigans for the Top 4. Everton welcome Luton Town to Liverpool on Saturday, what to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Everton have entered the season with terrible results and performances, but last week was a good one for them as they knocked Brentford out of the league and knocked Aston Villa out of the League Cup at Birmingham. Still, they are only three points above the relegation zone in the table.
Luton, though they got their first league point last weekend, could not be happy about it. They played a powerplay for an hour, yet Wolves didn’t even get a proper push. If they want to get out of the relegation zone for a while, they need to win.
Everton’s key figures
Under Sean Dyche, the written-off Abdoulaye Doucouré went up, striking twice and assisting once from midfield this season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also back from a niggling injury, the England striker also netting twice.
Luton’s key players
The visitors’ scoring mainstay Carlton Morris has scored twice so far, but both times from the penalty spot. Barnsley mainstay Mads Andersen strengthened the defence in the summer, with the Danish stopper settling into the Luton line-up.
Betting tip
The Toffees rebuilt their attack at the end of the transfer window. Everton have struck at least twice in four of their last five games.
Luton, on the other hand, have been an offensive embarrassment. It has the Burnley game to spare, yet three hits in five rounds is really not enough. The midfield isn’t creative enough, the attack again not experienced enough to score a goal on its own with individual quality.
Considering Everton’s improving attack, the return of the healthy playmaker Calvert-Lewin, and the apparent lack of quality in Luton’s squad, I think the Toffees will win at home for the first time in the League season.
Betting tip l Everton win
