Everton are looking for a replacement for Ancelotti. One of the options is to be Steven Gerrard!
Carlo Ancelotti suddenly announced that his engagement in England is over. His next destination will be his heartland Real Madrid! But that’s a problem for the Toffees, who have lost their manager.
Carlo Ancelotti suddenly announced that his engagement in England is over. His next destination will be his heartland Real Madrid! But that’s a problem for the Toffees, who have lost their manager. Who could replace the experienced and calm Italian?
Options are thought to include former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez, or also former legendary Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard. Pretty shaky options, don’t you think?
Among the Czech public, current Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard hasn’t gained many new fans, on the contrary, he has lost many of those who loved him since childhood. The Europa League quarter-final match between Rangers and Slavia left a big mark on the name of the forty-one-year-old Gerrard (at least with most of Czech society).
In the British Isles, however, Gerrard is seen as a megatalented strategist who is rolling in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers. So it’s not surprising that he should also be on the list of possible replacements for Carlo Ancelotti. His past is linked to Everton’s eternal rivals, namely Liverpool, so spineless perhaps Gerrard cannot be.
Other options are thought to be Paulo Fonseca, Erik ten Hag and Roberto Martínez. The Toffees were also reportedly interested in current West Ham manager David Moyes, only for him to sign a new 3-year deal with the Hammers in the near future.
It will be very difficult to replace the Italian manager who is known for his calm nature. He may have finished as high as 10th in the Premier League with Everton, but during his 58 coaching stints in England’s top competition, he averaged the most points of any manager in modern history.
