Czech forward David Pastrnak put Boston in the lead twice. But Seattle turned the game around and won the shootout (4:3). Edmonton Oilers were the favourites to beat Los Angeles (4:2), with David Rittich in goal.

David Pastrnak returned to the battle for second-leading scorer

Czech goal scorer David Pastrnak split his goals in the 1st and 2nd periods, with the Seattle Kraken taking the lead each time. The NHL is waiting to see who will be the second player in a season to surpass at least the 40-goal mark. And with today’s game, Pastrnak is back in the fight for the second best goal scorer.

He’s currently at 38 goals, which puts him 5th in the canon thanks to more games played. However, Zach Hyman and Sam Reihart, who have been silent for a long time, have only one more goal. The Boston team, with Linus Ullmark in goal this time, took the lead in the 6th minute of the game when Pastrnak shot past Phillip Grubauer.

Seattle responded with a power play goal in the second period by Jordan Eberle. However, before the end of the second period, Pastrnak scored his second goal of the game to give the Bruins the lead.

Seattle turned the game around in the third period, however, after goals by Dunn and Bjorkstand. Boston, however, took the game into overtime at 57:08 on a power play goal by Charlie Coyle, which was assisted by the Czech goalie.

After 60 games, Pastrňák improved his point total to 85 points on 38 goals and 47 assists, and solidified his fourth place in points.

However, no goal was scored in overtime and the victory was decided in a shootout. Kayler Yamamoto was the more successful of the home team, scoring the winning goal. Seattle defeated Boston for the second time in the season and reduced their loss to the playoff position to 5 points.

Edmonton was the favourite to win the game

Edmonton, after two previous home defeats, welcomed a team it has been doing well against. Stuart Skinner played in goal for the Oilers and Los Angeles bet on David Rittich this time.

The Kings struck early in the 1st and 2nd periods. However, Edmonton was able to answer each time with Zach Hyman’s 39th goal of the season and then a power play bomb from Leon Draisaitl.

Edmonton finally decided their victory in the last period, when Czech goalie Rittich capitulated twice more. First from the stick of Evan Bouchard, who scored the game-winning goal. And Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sealed the 4:2 victory for the home team at 56:31.

Two points for assists were also scored by Connor McDavid, who contributed to the goals by Hyman and Bouchard and improved his points tally to 91.
