Even the head of the FAČR has commented on the alleged racism of children at Sparta! Twisting reality is unacceptable, says Fousek
Sparta’s match with Rangers was positive for the Czech team both on the pitch and in the stands. But in the Islands they see it differently, according to many media and fans of the blue part of Glasgow, children in the stands insulted players with dark skin. Even the head of the FA has now spoken out against this.
Sparta’s match with Rangers was positive for the Czech team both on the pitch and in the stands. In Britain, however, they see it differently, according to many media and fans of the blue part of Glasgow, children in the stands insulted players of dark skin. The head of the FA has now spoken out against this.
Sparta won against Rangers 1: 0, the only goal of the game was scored by Dávid Hancko. The team from Letná is now second in its group with four points.
However, abroad this result is not at all resolved. Sparta’s match against Rangers is one of the main topics, but once again racism is being addressed.
This time the kids were supposed to racially heckle Glen Kamara and other dark-skinned players. We all condemn racism and try to fight it, but this was not the case.
That’s why Sparta issued a statement and was joined by the FAČR, more precisely its head Petr Fousek, who was present at the match.
“I can honestly say that I am surprised by some of the statements made by foreign media. On the contrary, I would like to praise the atmosphere created by the children in the Letná stand, which was truly amazing. I congratulate AC Sparta for the idea to fill the stands with children and I am glad that UEFA accepted this proposal,” he said.
“As president of the FA, which has long been committed to combating any manifestations of intolerance, I totally reject such generalisations about the problem of racism.
Whether it be towards Czech clubs, Czech football, the capital city of Prague or the entire Czech Republic. To twist the reality I saw at Letná into what I subsequently read about what happened at the stadium is unacceptable,” he added.
