Even six players weren’t enough! Watch Jamal Musiala’s amazing solo goal
A generational talent, a young prodigy, a golden child. That’s the nickname given to 19-year-old Bayern Munich footballer Jamal Musiala. Against Wolfsburg, the German midfielder proved that all the nicknames are true with a solo goal over 6.
A generational talent, a young prodigy, a golden child. That’s the nickname given to 19-year-old Bayern Munich footballer Jamal Musiala. Against Wolfsburg, the German midfielder proved that all the nicknames are true with a solo goal over 6.
Bayern dropped to second place due to Union Berlin’s win ahead of Sunday’s duel, with the sensation from the capital topping the table.
But the Munich players didn’t leave it that way for long and returned to the top of the Bundesliga thanks to their win against Wolfsburg.
The win was all but assured after just 20 minutes. Kingsley Coman opened the scoring in the 9th minute, the French winger added another goal in the 14th minute and João Cancelo scored his second assist in his second game for Bayern.
In the 19th minute, Thomas Müller scored for the visitors to make it 3-0. It was the same story for Viktoria Plzen, who were also trailing Bayern by three goals after 20 minutes in the Champions League.
But then the match started to get a bit more complicated for the Bavarian side. Just before half-time Jakub Kaminski reduced the score to 1:3, and in the 54th minute Joshua Kimmich saw a red card and Bayern went down to ten.
But no big drama came from Bayern’s sensation. Jamal Musiala took the ball at the right touchline in the opponents’ half, passed between two opponents in the middle of the pitch and headed it into the penalty area between four opponents, pushed the ball through and placed it precisely towards the bar.
Musiala scored his 10th goal in his 18th league game and also had six assists. He also has three goals in the DFB Pokal and two assists in the Champions League.
Wolfsburg reduced the deficit towards the end with Mattias Svanberg’s help, but that was all they could do. Bayern returned to the top of the Bundesliga with a 4:2 win.
