King Jamie Vardy is back! The beer and cigarette lover made his Premier League return with a goal that secured Leicester a point against Tottenham. Foxes fans are taking the 1-1 draw as a win.

Although the comments on Leicester’s social media are overwhelmingly positive, Foxes fans cannot ignore the fact that with a bit of bad luck, the game could have been over after the first half. Spurs had overwhelming pressure, managing five corners in the first 11 minutes.

Red Bull kicked not only Vardy

But after the sides changed sides, a completely different fox ran onto the pitch. Gradually they evened the game and even outplayed the favourites. Although the cameras only caught Jamie Vardy with a Red Bull in his hand after coming out of the dressing room, the whole team was full of energy.

“It tastes like a win. The second half showed the potential for the next games. There was a good energy from the team,” wrote Leicester fan Jonathan in a liked comment on the Facebook post.

The home side created most of their pressure around the 60th minute, when Vardy could have struck once more in addition to his goal. But he was brilliantly saved by Guglielmo Vicario, which probably secured at least a point for Tottenham. Spurs were clueless after the change of sides.

Good for the league

The return of the Foxes with a point was watched enthusiastically by the whole Premier League. Vardy is a respected figure in the British Isles, he’s the best goalscorer in history if you only count hits after the age of 30.

“Leicester is back, Vardy is back. Great to see it again,” rejoiced Pascal.

Despite the point, the Foxes must remain humble. The competition in the league is really tough this season, on paper there is no outright outsider. A point against Spurs clearly counts, but the first half is a warning finger raised.
