Even a great performance by Stephen Curry wasn’t enough for Golden State to win. Phoenix wins by the narrowest of margins in Sacramento
Golden State was unsuccessful at home against New Orleans. The home team was led by another great performance from 36-year-old Stephen Curry, but he lacked more shooting support from his teammates. Phoenix dominated a tight game in Sacramento to boost their playoff hopes.

Curry wasn’t up to the task on his own
In the important game Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans (109:116) the home team failed. The San Francisco team dropped to 9th place in the Western Conference as the Los Angeles Lakers got ahead of them.
The Warriors have long been assured of at least the playoffs, but before the season they definitely thought about higher positions. In addition, the matchup with the Pelicans suggested that they may be packing their bags after one game of the playoffs. The only one who played virtually flawlessly was the home team’s point guard Stephen Curry.
But the 36-year-old veteran was on his own. He didn’t get much support from his teammates. Still, he scored 33 points in his 32 minutes on the floor, which he traditionally contributed with 7 threes out of 13 shot attempts. He also had 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
However, his great performance brought down the performance of his other teammates who struggled. The team’s other star Klay Thompson scored only 19 points in 38 minutes. And that wasn’t enough for a New Orleans team that was led by the duo of C.J. McCollum and Zion Williamson. They contributed to their unit’s 54 points in the game.
The deciding factor of the game was the second quarter, which New Orleans dominated 45 to 22. The lead did not let go for the rest of the game.
The Suns hold out hope of advancing directly to the playoffs
The Sacramento Kings were no match for the Phoenix Suns, losing 107 to 108. Phoenix is hoping to make it to the playoffs without having to go through a tricky preliminary round before the last game of the regular season.
New Orleans retained sixth place with a win over Golden State. The first half was interesting for the home team. However, Phoenix came up big in the second half and dominated it.
As a result, the team won by a single point and it was an important victory for the Phoenix team as it still has a chance to move up to the 6th position in the last game of the season.
On the Sacramento side, Domantas Sabonis once again attacked the triple-double line. In the end, he missed the mark by a single assist. In total, he put 25 points in the Suns’ basket and also had 12 rebounds under the basket. He was complemented shooting-wise by the pair of De’Aaron Fox and Keegan Murray, both of whom had 23 points.
The Suns were led by the experienced Kevin Durant, the game’s leading scorer with 28 points. The team’s other two star players Bradley Beal and Devin Booker put 20 and 21 points respectively in the Kings’ basket.
