European Cup Preliminaries: another Czech hit helps to advance in the Champions League

On Wednesday, the remaining four matches of the first qualifying round of the Champions League were played. Czech international Tomáš Pekhart was also involved in the game and, as usual for him in the Legia Warsaw jersey, he did not concede a goal.
Legia Warsaw went into the home rematch with Bodo Glimt with a one-goal lead. They secured their progress with a goal in the 40th minute and added a second goal in the second half when the Norwegian champion was already playing at risk.
The scorer was Tomas Pekhart, who had already returned from his holiday after the European Championships and although he only came into the game in the second half, he managed to score again. This was a great follow-up to last season, in which he became the top scorer in the Polish league.
Pekhart will face Flora Talin, one of the most playable opponents, in the second round of the Champions League. If Legia passes, they will be assured of participation in the Europa Conference League.
In the clash between two paper-weak teams, no goal fell and as the first match between Alashkert and Connah’s Quay ended 2-2, it went into extra time, with the home side breaking the game in their favour with seven minutes to go.
Maccabi Haifa unexpectedly ended up in the Champions League as the Israeli side fell to Kairat Almaty 0:2 in the return leg. The first match ended 1:1, so the Kazakh champion is moving on.
In the last match, Neftçi Baku beat Dinamo Tbilisi 2:1 and advanced to the next round.
