Although club football was played at the weekend, Saturday evening belonged to the national team. In Hamburg, Germany, the draw was made for the preliminary groups of the final EURO 2024 tournament, which will take place in Germany.

On Friday night, Hamburg played host to the city’s derby between St. Pauli and HSV, and on Saturday, the German city became the centre of the action for European national football as the preliminary groups for EURO 2024 were drawn.

The final tournament of the European Championship, which will take place in Germany, will see 24 teams take part. However, we don’t know all of them yet, as some national teams have to fight their way through the barrage.
