Eriksen after Denmark’s loss to Slovenia: We feel miserable! We have a point, of course we would have liked three

Group C offered us two matches on Sunday. In the evening one, England managed to beat Serbia 1:0 thanks to Jud Bellingham’s goal. Before that, however, Slovenia and Denmark were still in action.
The favourite was clear, the Danes have a stronger squad and should have gone for three points, which are perhaps even more important in this group. But the Slovenians resisted and finally managed to win one point.
In the 77th minute, Erik Janža, whose name you may remember thanks to his short stint at Viktoria Plzeň, kicked it for them. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, because Denmark’s goal was scored by Christian Eriksen in the 17th minute.
The experienced offensive midfielder collapsed at the last European Championship and fought for his life on the pitch itself. He made it through the fight and was eventually able to return to the football pitch.
At the post-match press conference, Eriksen praised the atmosphere in the match, but there was also some disappointment at the unnecessary loss of points, which makes the chances of progressing from the group more difficult.
“Of course it was a nice feeling, the goal came at the right moment, in front of so many Danish fans. We thought we could strike from a standard situation. Unfortunately, the opponent did too,” Eriksen said.
“We feel bad now, it’s always disappointing when you don’t keep the lead at the end. We got a point, of course we would have liked three, but it’s not always that easy in football,” he added.
