Erik ten Hag is not afraid of being sacked from Manchester United. Club management has common sense, says Dutch coach
Manchester United will welcome the Premier League leader Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday. The main one, however, will be the FA Cup final at the end of May, which could potentially secure coach Erik ten Hag’s job as head coach of the Red Devils for next season. However, he is not afraid of being sacked himself.

Coach Erik ten Hag is under immense pressure. Manchester United continues to rack up negative records under his leadership. After the debacle at Crystal Palace on Sunday, they will welcome a rampant Arsenal, the Premier League leaders, to Old Trafford.
Although the Red Devils are having a terrible season, they still have something to play for. A top six finish in England’s top competition is still on the line, and on May 25 the Dutch strategist will lead the team into a match against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
Should the most successful club in English football history win English football’s oldest competition, the pressure on the whole of Manchester United could be at least slightly reduced. Erik ten Hag could potentially secure his continuation in England for next season.
But it’s not a certainty. The media is discussing who will replace him. However, he himself has no doubt that he will be at Old Trafford next season.

Thirteen Premier League defeats, the most in club history, a negative goal difference, the most goals conceded (81) since the 1976/77 season and the list could go on. The list of negative records is not entirely short. What makes it all the more interesting is that Erik ten Hag has no doubts whatsoever about his position at Manchester United.
Not even the reminder that winning the FA Cup didn’t save legendary Dutch coach Louis van Gaal from being sacked from Old Trafford. The Red Devils will face a city rival who are big favourites in this year’s final.
“I’m not scared. I think the club’s management has common sense. They’ve seen that our defence has started in 32 different line-ups. When you lose the stoppers, you see we don’t have a left-back… They know it will have a negative impact,” Fabrizio Romano quotes the Dutch coach.
Erik ten Hag also pointed out that he is still working on getting his team to play better and to improve overall.
