On Tuesday and Wednesday the matches of the 14th round of the German Bundesliga were played. Several Czech players were in action again, with varying degrees of success.
Jiri Pavlenka faced Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena and despite catching Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s penalty to break his streak of several games in a row with a goal scored, he cashed in six times.
Bayer Leverkusen have started to do well, despite Patrik Schick not playing in the last few games due to health reasons.
Adam Hložek, on the other hand, was not missing from the starting line-up at Cologne. Leverkusen won 2: 1, Hložek played 59 minutes.
Pavel Kadeřábek made his first league start since 2 October and, like the whole Hoffenheim team, did not play a good game. On a scale of 1 to 6, Kicker magazine gave him a 5.5.
Hoffenheim lost to Frankfurt 2: 4 and although the result doesn’t look so clear-cut, Frankfurt could have scored a lot more goals.
The last two games have been good for Alex King. In both of them he received a 2 from Kicker. Against Mainz he even assisted the only and decisive goal of the game.
King won the ball himself at halfway level, sent a forward pass to teammate Simon Terodde and he scored. The kicker named King as the player of the match and included him in the eleven of the round.
Tomas Koubek has been polishing the bench again since last weekend after four games with the medical disability of number one Rafal Gikiewicz. It must be said that he did not do badly between the sticks.
Vladimir Darida is in an even worse position in Hertha under Sandro Schwarz. He has only made three league appearances this season, seven times sitting on the bench for the whole game, and in the last four games he hasn’t even been on the bench.
