England have assembled a very strong squad for this year’s EURO, and are considered by many to be the favourites to win the whole tournament. The attack alone would deliver on two hockey formations. Indeed, Gareth Southgate has players like Kane, Sancho, Sterling, Foden, Rashford, Mount and Grealish at his disposal.
The Croatians are the reigning world runners-up, so they should not be underestimated. However, this generation is quite old, with the likes of Modric, Rakitic and Perisic already over 32.
Even so, Zlatko Dalic has a very good squad at his disposal and will definitely want to advance from the first two places in the group.
The last three duels between them were all in 2018. First, at the World Cup, the Croats beat their opponents 2-1 in extra time, and three months later in the Nations League, the match ended 0-0. In the rematch, England managed to beat Croatia 2: 1.
England are playing the match on home soil, with the home crowd at Wembley. They will want to enter the tournament well and confirm their role as favourites.
