England have reached the final of the European Championship for the first time in their history, so they have a chance to win the trophy for the first time. However, the brutal majority of football fans will side with Italy, with few wishing for Albion. Why is that?

English fans are some of the most passionate in Europe, but also some of the most arrogant.

From the start of every tournament, they see themselves in the final, singing “It’s coming home” throughout the championship. It’s a reference to the fact that the England team, along with Scotland, is the oldest in the world.

However, England can’t exactly be called the home of football, having won only one trophy in its long history, and we have to look back as far as 1966.

However, Danish Kasper Schmeichel also alluded to this when asked a question on the subject. “And was it ever at home? Did you ever win it?” the Leicester goalkeeper quipped.

Another factor that annoys fans is the arrogance and arrogance of the British media and pundits. The sports papers have no problem writing before the semi-final with Denmark that England will face Italy in the final.

Gary Lineker, Jamie Carragher and others in the Premier League proudly fight against simulation, but when Raheem Sterling performs the same feat, they think it’s a “catch”.

It’s not for nothing that pictures of the whole of Europe cheering for Italy are appearing on the internet.

The next wave of unsympathy has been brought on by the English at this championship. Fans regularly boo disrespectfully at every game for the national anthem.

In addition, England have made it almost impossible for other fans to enter the country, so only home supporters can get into the stadium.

In the eighth-final against Germany, England did everything they could to upset their opponents, not even allowing them into the stadium for a pre-match training session.

A huge wave of negative reactions was unleashed by the English fans after the match. A picture of a little girl in German colours crying at the loss was circulating on the internet.

English “heroes” started calling her a “little bitch” and a “Nazi bitch”, saying she deserved to lose anyway because she was Hitler’s relative.

But it was England who turned the most fans against each other in the semi-final against Denmark. The decisive goal was scored in a very controversial manner.

There were two balls on the pitch at one point, but the referee didn’t stop the game. Subsequently, Sterling’s fall added a lot, but the referee didn’t even go to look at VAR.

The English fans showed themselves in another light besides the classic booing during the anthem. They tried to hit goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the eyes with a laser during the penalty, which, according to an expert, could have caused him permanent damage.

All this is further supported by an undeniable home advantage that makes this year’s EURO irregular. It’s not England’s fault, but it gives them a huge advantage.

While some teams have flown over 10,000 kilometres, England have not had to move from their hotel apart from one trip to Rome.

It has played six of its seven matches at its home ground, Wembley, where the opposition’s fans have virtually no chance of getting in.

The Danes had to travel to Baku in the quarter finals, deal with the oppressive heat, jet lag, a flight of several hours and then return to London, Albion knows no such problems.

In the final of the European Championship, so many fans will side with the opponent, wishing England triumph is very difficult at the moment.
