The EMEA Masters has completed the second day of qualifying and the eight teams advancing to the qualifying series have been announced.
The tournament for the best teams in the national leagues has completed the first part of the qualification. Sixteen teams, divided into four groups, were here to battle it out to qualify for the qualifying series. The series played Bo3 style will then decide who will complete the twelve teams waiting in the main stage of the tournament.
The EMEA Masters Qualifier has so far offered us interesting matches, convincing performances of the favourites and, most importantly, two Czech representatives. Today’s tournament schedule will offer us a battle of the eight chosen players for four places in the main stage.
While our runners-up BRUTE fell behind the competition in the group, Entropiq did much better. Apart from two defeats to Turkish favourites FUT Esports, the Czech champion managed to win all their matches and calmly advance to the qualifying series.
However, the Czech team had to wait a long time for an opponent, as they had to wait for a wild three tiebreaker. In the pool, our boys were also awaited by BRUTE’s overcomers – French favourites Team GO, who have looked truly formidable so far.
Luckily for the Czech team, the lot was very favourable and awarded the Portuguese champion GTZ Esports. They won their group (5-1) and will definitely not want to be left behind. The Portuguese league is generally one of the weakest, although the competition has picked up considerably in recent years. Still, Entropiq’s opponent won the group and it will definitely not be an easy affair.
However, it is not a bigger difference in quality than in the last tournament, when eSuba challenged the Turkish number three – Papara Supermassive, who were the big favourites in the qualification series. And to everyone’s surprise our guys won it 2-1.
Whether a similar success and another valuable scalp to the coefficient of Entropiq will succeed, we will see today from 18:00.
