The EMEA Masters, the traditional tournament for the best European teams of the second tier, has played its summer leg. Two Czech teams – Entropiq and BRUTE – also entered the high-profile tournament on Monday.
Expectations were different. While the Czech champion Entropiq came to the tournament with the task to follow up on eSuba’s participation in the main stage of the tournament, the runner-up BRUTE rather wanted to gain valuable experience.
BRUTE players were the first to get into the game, taking on the favoured team from France – Team GO – right from the start. If anyone expected that even the Czech duo would manage to shock the French trio, they were sorely mistaken.
The quality difference between the two teams was literally gigantic. The favourite played exactly what they needed to and despite BRUTE playing sympathetically, they allowed their opponent practically nothing.
While BRUTE couldn’t improve their game after that and gradually lost the other two matches in the group (Diamond Esports and Anubis Gaming) by large margins, Entropiq did much better.
Entropiq’s first match against the Turkish trio FUT Esports promised more action. Entropiq managed to keep up with the other qualification favorite for most of the match, unfortunately some shortcomings and more accurate play of the opponent eventually cost the Czech champion the victory. Still, Entropiq could be more or less satisfied even considering the composition of the group, where the Czech team had better chances to succeed.
Wins over 7AM Esports and White Esports gave the Czech champion a great starting position for today’s second round. Entropiq’s goal now will be to capitalize on the two wins, fight with FUT for the first place and avoid a clash with Team GO in the series for promotion.
