There are only 16 teams left in the English EFL Cup and each of them knows their opponent. West Ham, with a trio of Czech players, after knocking out Manchester United, will face another team from Manchester, this time it will be the Citizens. Let’s take a look at the next game.

QPR vs. Sunderland could be an interesting duel. Neither team plays in the Premier League, so the chance to fight for the quarterfinals and challenge a strong opponent in it is enough motivation. Sunderland haven’t faced a strong opponent yet, QPR faced Everton and beat them 3-2.

West Ham, for whom Soucek, Coufal and King play, will challenge Manchester City at their ground. The Hammers managed to beat Manchester United 1: 0, with King making his debut for United. The Citizens shot against Wycombe in the previous round and won 6: 1.

Stoke City’s next game is against Brentford. Stoke managed to knock out one Premier League side, Watford, and this time they will challenge another. Brentford shot very well in their last game, recording a 7: 0 win against Oldham.

Chelsea vs. Southampton also offers us an interesting duel. Southampton could give Chelsea problems, because they managed to embarrass Manchester City in the league and turn them around for points, in the cup they could have all the more motivation against a stronger team. Chelsea managed to advance against Aston Villa only after penalties.

Preston will try for a big surprise when they take on Liverpool. Liverpool will be the clear favourite, but nowhere is it a foregone conclusion that the favourite will always advance.

The next game is Arsenal vs. Leeds. Leeds showed surprising results last season, but this season they are not doing well at all. Arsenal have been struggling to maintain their good form for a long time, but they are doing well in the cup. They’ve scored 9 goals in two games and not conceded one.

Burnley play Tottenham in their penultimate game. Tottenham managed to advance against Wolves only after penalties, so Burnley can feel the chance of advancing over a stronger opponent.

The last game will be between Leicester and Brighton. Both teams had easy opponents and slipped into this round without any problems. Leicester will be the favourites in the duel, but Brighton won’t give up anything up front.

All the duels for the quarterfinals will be played on October 26. For some teams, this cup is a way to Europe, some deploy young players here to gain experience, and some simply want to add another trophy to the collection. Apart from Manchester United, all the big teams are in the game, so there are plenty of interesting games to come.
