Eden Hazard’s return to Lille? It’s not impossible, says the president of the French champion
The transfer of Eden Hazard equals disaster for Real Madrid and his departure is very likely. A potential destination for the Belgian winger could be his former club Lille, whose president Olivier Letang told L’Equipe that a return is not impossible.

The White Ballet bought Hazard in the summer of 2019 for 115 million euros. Blues fans were very sad at the time to lose their star, only that more than two years have passed and now it can be said that Chelsea are the ones who have made an incredible profit in this transfer.
Hazard has only played 54 games for the White Ballet in that time, which is in itself very trivial, but his 5 goals and 9 assists are far worse statistics than anyone could have imagined two years ago.
So the royal club paid 23 million euros for each of Hazard’s goals, and that’s about what the Belgian is currently worth, according to the Mirror.
Moreover, the Belgian international has a contract with the Spanish club until 2024, but on January 7 Hazard will be 31 years old and it seems that his departure is imminent, as Real Madrid’s management broke the stick over him.
A return to the Premier League will certainly be in play, where a number of clubs, led by Newcastle, would no doubt be interested in him. However, the reigning French champions are also in the running for his signature.
“Hazard’s return to Lille? It’s not impossible. If necessary, I will go to Spain. Hazard is still a great player who has great quality. However, he is currently a Real Madrid player, with whom he is still under contract for several years,” Letang told French daily L’Equipe.
Hazard spent 7 long years at Lille (2005-2012) and even enjoyed a league and cup championship in the 2010/11 season. Fans then had to wait for the league title until last season, when the traditional French side notched up their 5th league win already.
The return of the skillful Belgian to Lille is certainly not unrealistic, but everything will depend on his health condition, which if resolved, will probably head to the Premier League for a few more seasons.
