Real Madrid beat Valladolid with Eden Hazard on the pitch
Real Madrid made up for the loss in El Clásico before Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final rematch with Barcelona. In the 27th round of the Spanish La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti’s team hosted Real Valladolid, who are fighting to stay in the top Spanish football competition.
Los Blancos already decided the fate of the match during the first half when the home side’s star Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick within seven minutes. The Madrid giant then continued their cannonade after the change of sides, outclassing their opponents 6-0.
An interesting fact of the match was the fact that the French cannonballer was replaced by the coach damned Eden Hazard, whom we haven’t seen in a league match for an incredible 204 days. In fact, the last time he appeared in a La Liga match was on 11 September during the home demolition of Mallorca.

He was then given his chance in the Champions League during losses to Shakhtar and Leipzig, and got his minutes in the cup game against Caceren. In that one, Real won 1: 0 on the football midget’s pitch, but Hazard rather struggled against the team from the 4th league.
In Sunday’s match against Valladolid, he came on in the 65th minute with the score 4:0. Against a committed opponent, he was much better than he has been in any Real Madrid game this season.
Although he missed the opponent’s open goal before the end of the match, he recorded 14 touches of the ball, 82% of accurate passes and 4 chances created during his 28 minutes on the pitch. In addition, he assisted Lucas Vazquez’s goal.
Despite a decent performance, it is highly unlikely that he will make any more inroads into Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up at the end of the season. The latter prefers younger teammates in his squad hierarchy and it doesn’t look like his situation will change at a crucial stage of the season.
