Earthquake on the UFC 279 card! Three fights look completely different, paradoxically more attractive than originally agreed

The UFC had to respond to the problems. For the first time ever, a press conference was interrupted when some fighters fought backstage. In addition, one of the main stars outweighed the other by almost four kilograms. The main card looks completely different now, as three fights have been changed.

UFC 279 will probably go down in history. This is how the matchmakers built an attractive and interesting card, so that more than half of the main card ended up looking completely different. And to make matters worse, it now looks even more attractive to many people.

Nate Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev were supposed to provide the main event, however the latter missed the weight limit by almost four kilograms. In addition, the Chechen native made trouble backstage when there was a conflict between the teams of the two wrestlers.

Diaz refused to fight each other after outweighing Chimaev. Understandably so. He asked for a fight with Tony Ferguson, and surprisingly, he got it. So the Diaz vs. Ferguson duel will be the main event on the UFC 279 card.

In addition, Ferguson agreed to make the fight a five-rounder, even though he was only preparing for a three-round fight with Chinese fighter Li Jingliang. He will eventually fight Daniel Rodriguez.

And what about Chimaev? The aforementioned Rodriguez was scheduled to face another rising star, Kevin Holland. Holland and Chimaev have some unfinished business and now they will be able to “settle everything” between them in the cage.

The other two matches remain unchanged. Irene Aldana will face Macy Chiasson, Johnny Walker will face Ion Cutelaba.
