The start of the new football season is slowly approaching, and with it comes the traditional next edition of the popular FIFA series. On Sunday, EA Sports released the official trailer and the first official news that fans will be able to look forward to in FIFA 22.
The popular FIFA series is by far the most criticized of the several sports franchises released by EA Sports. Especially in recent years, the lack of progression has been criticized and the seasons are starting to become repetitive.
Added to this, according to some, is the ever-deteriorating gameplay, and so expectations were high before the first new additions to the new edition were revealed, and these have been partially fulfilled.
Gameplay innovations
A brand new Hypermotion technology is coming to the new Playstation 5 and XBOX X Series consoles. This has allowed developers to better scan real football matches. These were then used to develop the game itself.
In particular, the behaviour of the AI should improve, with several times more possible variations of actions and reactions. The aerial duels should also look more realistic.
Directly in the gameplay, the behaviour of the goalkeeper, for example, will change. Authentic goalkeeping styles will also be displayed in the game. There will also be a new option for players to sprint explosively. You will then be able to adjust the tactics yourself in more detail, especially in terms of the attacking style of your eleven.
New in career mode
Last year, after a long time, big changes came to the career mode as well. However, more detailed match simulations, the ability to schedule training and other minor details didn’t impress the managers behind the monitors.
This year, however, there should be at least one big new feature. You will be able to create your own team in your career and lead it to glory. In a short paragraph, the developers have revealed yet another new feature.
After years, we will finally see changes in the Career Player mode. However, the company decided to keep more details to themselves.
New features in Ultimate Team
The most popular mode in FIFA for many years has been Ultimate Team, which allows players to compose their dream eleven from players around the world and compete against other players from around the world.
The format of the two weekly Division Rivals competitions and the FUT Champions (Weekend League) is set to be revamped for the new edition. However, the only concrete news so far are the new cards.
A card type called FUT Heroes will be added to the game. This will feature club heroes and can be described as a different type of cards that we know in the game as Icons.
In team chemistry, former football superstars will help you connect especially players from the competitions in which they excelled during their careers. For example, we officially know names like Gómez from the Bundesliga or midfielder Cahill from the Premier League.
In addition to the official news, EA Sports has also shown a trailer. However, it was again conceived more in the style of a visual treat, rather than giving fans of the series new information.
