It looked like a done deal. Rafiu Durosinmi was going to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt and Viktoria Plzeň was going to get a big payday. But that won’t happen, at least for now. The transfer has stalled for several reasons.

Rafiu Durosinmi has been a member of Viktoria Plzeň since January 2023. He first arrived on loan from Karviná. During the first six months he didn’t shine, but the West Bohemians bought him for 850 thousand euros permanently and today they certainly don’t regret it.

This season, the 21-year-old striker played 19 competitive matches, scoring 9 goals and adding 6 assists. He has become a major offensive weapon and a hot commodity on the transfer market. Although Transfermarkt estimates his value at €5 million, Viktoria are trying to sell him for more.

Durosinmi has recently been linked with a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt. A long-term injury to the talented striker should not have prevented the transfer. Pilsen were expected to receive a sum of around €9 million for the Nigerian.

However, just as the transfer seemed to be done, everything is now the opposite. All the media in Germany are reporting that the transfer has stalled after the medical that Durosinmi underwent.

Will Rafiu Durosinmi leave for Germany?

The information varies. Some cannot even be confirmed directly. Anyway, not long ago the transfer looked like a done deal, but now there is talk that Eintracht’s interest has waned considerably. It is not yet clear that the medical examination itself is to blame.

However, there is a lot of talk that the requested documentation regarding the Nigerian striker’s health shows that he will be out for a longer period of time than originally anticipated. At least, that’s how inFotbal describes the situation. Frankfurt needs a striker as soon as possible.

So Eintracht wants to bring the price down. Apparently, it doesn’t have the courage to invest such a large sum in a player whose health is not 100%. But this is not to Plzeň’s liking.

However, that’s not the only problem. The German club is already working on another signing. Specifically, it is negotiating the possible guest appearance of an Austrian striker at Wolves. He is none other than Sasha Kalajdzic, who is already Bundesliga-tested.

Frankfurt are looking to include a permanent transfer option in the Austrian striker’s hosting deal. However, it is willing to welcome Kalajdzic even without it.

“Durosinmi is not currently seen by Eintracht management as a viable plan B,” the German kicker said.

So at the moment, there is a lot of uncertainty about how the whole situation will play out. However, Viktoria are certainly hoping they can monetise their star properly.
