Drogba took a dig at Arsenal: Thank you agent Willian, your mission is over, just like Cech and Luiz
What do Petr Čech, David Luiz and Willian have in common? They all left Chelsea for Arsenal after their performance declined or they were benched. And Didier Drogba took a dig at his rivals for going there as secret agents.
What do Petr Čech, David Luiz and Willian have in common? They all left Chelsea for Arsenal after their performance declined or they were benched. And Didier Drogba took a dig at his rival for going there as secret agents.
When Willian came from Chelsea to Arsenal, he was supposed to help the Gunners back to the top. He performed superbly, scoring three assists on his debut. But his performances faded considerably until Arsenal fans became almost allergic to him.
Moreover, all the Canaries’ supporters were irritated by the huge amount of money the Brazilian winger was receiving every month. So finally, after just one season, he decided to leave for Corinthians and made a nice gesture towards the club by getting his contract terminated without demanding any severance pay.
However, Chelsea legend Didier Drogba took a dig at the London rival. The latter suggested on his Twitter account that Willian, like other former Blues players, was sent to Arsenal as secret agents.
“Congratulations and good luck at Corinthians. Thanks Agent Willian, your mission is over, just like David Luiz and Petr Cech’s,” Drogba tweeted.
Indeed, there remains a great rivalry between Arsenal and Chelsea, which was at a high level during Drogba’s tenure. It logically persists even today, but due to Arsenal’s poor results, the matches are not as tense.
