Drake’s curse continues?
Canadian rapper Aubrey “Drake” Graham could be an interesting inspiration for brave tipsters. Aside from his career as a famous singer, he has also become famous for posting his daring bets on various sports. But in recent years, there have been rumours circulating on social media that his bets are cursed.
At least, that is, the published picks he bet on combat sports. This is a sport he should avoid, as in the last year alone he has lost a staggering 70 million CZK in bets on Jorge Masvidal (losing to Colby Covington), Justin Gaethje (losing to Charles Oliveira), Kamara Usman (losing to Leon Edwards), Israel Adesanya (losing to Alex Pereira) and Jose Aldo (losing to Merab Dvalishvili).
His friend Jake Paul lost to him for a total of CZK 9 million
Due to his large fortune, the sports lover often spices up sporting events with these bets and this was no different this past weekend. He published his betting slip in which he bet a sum of CZK 9 million on Jake Paul in his boxing match with Tommy Fury.
You probably know how the fight turned out. Although it was a close fight, the referee ended up raising his hand to the brother of legendary boxer Tyson Fury and Drake lost the above amount. Is this really a curse?
“It’s Drake’s fault! Why did you do that to me bro,” joked Paul in an interview immediately after the fight. “No, it’s my fault. This money is nothing to him, and he’s won a lot more money on me before,” he apologized to his friend, saying he would get his money back in a rematch.
The truth is that some media outlets focus mainly on the Canadian singer’s losses. But the British newspaper The Sun has come up with a summary of his published bets over the past year and he is doing well in other sports.
Tommy’s brother Tyson Fury warmed the soup, but he also admitted to losing
But the brother of the winner of the fight with Paul, undefeated WBC heavyweight boxing world champion Tyson Fury, did not miss the opportunity to poke fun. “It looks like Drake just flushed nine million CZK (converted to Czech currency) down the toilet,” laughed Tyson.
He admitted that he also lost money on the fight. How is that possible when his brother Tommy dominated the duel? “I’ll tell you a secret. I also lost because I bet on Tommy to knock him out,” he said with a smile. He said his bet was worth CZK 2.7 million.
