Dortmund would like to take their former star on loan, depending on United’s decision
Seventy-six minutes. That’s how much Jadon Sancho (23) has played in the Premier League this season. Before his arrival at Old Trafford, he shone in a Borussia Dormund jersey, so it was no wonder the Red Devils bought him for €85 million.

Let’s go back in time a bit. Ahead of the 2017/18 season, young Jadon Sancho transferred from Manchester City to German side Dortmund. BVB management paid just under €21 million for him.
The then 17-year-old Sancho hit 12 games in his first season in the Bundesliga, scoring once and setting up four goals for his teammates. Not a bad record at all for such a young player.
From the following season onwards, the English winger went all out. He scored 12 goals and assisted 14 in the German league. In total, the player with Jamaican roots played 137 games for Borussia, scoring 50 goals and 64 assists. Impressive numbers.
So after a few great seasons in Germany, a return to the Isles came in 2021. He was going to be a big boost for Manchester United, the club’s biggest rivals who had nurtured him. However, his first season wasn’t exactly a dream, as he recorded a 3+3 record in 29 English league games. In the following season it was 6+3.
This year he’s not playing at all. He has been dropped from United’s first team by the decision of coach Erik ten Hag. He doesn’t play games with him, he can’t even train with him.
Dortmund want Sancho on loan, it’s up to United
Borussia Dortmund are interested in their former workhorse, as reported by the famous journalist Fabrizio Romano on the social network X. “Borussia Dortmund are trying to get Jadon Sancho on loan from Man United,” he said.
“Negotiations are ongoing, but now it’s up to Man United – whether they will accept the guest appearance or it will not be possible for BVB to continue,” he added in his post.
In another post, the Italian journalist said that Sancho would be in favour of a return to Borussia. The clubs are discussing a possible split of the player’s salary. However, he again stressed that it is mainly waiting for the decision of the Manchester club’s management.
