Doncic scored 50 points, the sixth fastest player to do so this year
Slovenian basketball player Luka Doncic is the biggest star of the Dallas Mavericks and this year he confirms it again. There has only been one time in the last month that he hasn’t scored at least 30 points in a game. He improved those stats even more in last night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
Doncic managed to rack up 50 points against the Suns, to which he recorded six rebounds and 15 assists. Adding to that four rebounds and three successful blocks, it was the fifth best performance he has ever put on in his career.
The Slovenian is only the sixth player to reach 50 points in a single game in the NBA this season. Thanks to the successful performance, Doncic ranks second in the scorers’ chart and slightly pulled away from Joel Embiid.
The seventh-fastest
Doncic reached a major milestone with his hilarious performance against Phoenix, as his Dallas won 128-114, in addition to a great performance. The Slovenian reached the magical 10,000-point mark in the NBA. He needed 358 games to do so, making him the seventh fastest basketball player to reach that mark.
Only six players have reached 10,000 points faster than Doncic. Wilt Chamberlain did it in 236 games, Michael Jordan in 303, Elgin Baylor in 315, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 319, Oscar Robertson in 334 and George Gervin in 355.
Doncic, in a Mavericks jersey, is already one of the legends in his 24 years and has consistently surpassed Dallas’ historical stats. This year, he and his team are perfectly positioned to make the NBA playoffs without their participation.
